A practical base for golfers
Tenerife has seven 18-hole courses and three smaller 9-hole courses, making it easy to combine full rounds with shorter practice sessions. Golf trips to neighbouring La Gomera offer a very different mountain setting.
The apartment is in Golf del Sur, around a 3-minute walk from the course, while Amarilla Golf is about 12 minutes away on foot. Four manual golf trolleys are available for guests, helping you avoid carrying your bag or hiring a trolley for each round.

Golf courses
Tenerife’s courses are busiest in winter and green fees often vary by tee time. Early-bird, twilight and multi-round offers are worth checking.
Approx. 3 min walk
A parkland-style course, despite one nine being called the “Links”. Recent investment has noticeably improved the course. Expect an undulating layout, some uneven lies and frequent wind, especially on the second nine; a conservative strategy is often rewarded.
Approx. 12 min walk
A varied course with relatively few bunkers and forgiving areas around the greens. Recent investment has improved the putting surfaces, while wind remains the main challenge. The 8th hole across a small bay is the standout signature hole.
Approx. 20–25 min by car
A well-kept course in the lively south, often more sheltered than Golf del Sur and Amarilla. Water comes into play more than on most Tenerife courses, making it a worthwhile change of style.
Approx. 23 km / 25 min by car
An engaging and demanding layout that has hosted European Tour events. Its downhill par-4 signature hole is memorable, but ambitious shots can be heavily punished.
Approx. 33 km / 30 min by car
A premium course with demanding elevation changes and a layout that rewards local knowledge. A buggy is strongly recommended; whether it represents good value will depend on your priorities.
Approx. 72 km / 75 min by car
Designed by Seve Ballesteros, Buenavista combines dramatic cliffside holes with Atlantic views. The setting is exceptional, though course conditioning can vary.

A relaxed 9-hole option for a shorter round when you do not want to commit half a day. Best viewed as a warm-up or practice round rather than the main golfing highlight.

Playing specifics
Turf, wind and course conditions may feel different from those in northern Europe. A little preparation helps.
Warm-climate grasses react differently at impact, and heavy shots are often punished more than expected.
The turf around the greens can react differently, so a few practice chips before the round are worthwhile.
Wind can become a major factor. Lower trajectories, smoother swings and taking an extra club are often rewarded.
Courses can be busy in winter and play may be slower. Stay aware of other groups and wayward balls.
Golf shops
Most larger golf shops are in Las Chafiras, a short drive from the apartment. Prices can be higher than in mainland Europe, though clothing and shoes are often discounted and it may be worth asking whether a better price is available.
Online stock information is not always reliable on the islands, so it is best to check what is physically available in store.
